The flight

You pick me up by my waist and I grab onto your arms as you swing me in a dizzy circle around you like the lovers do in movies.
You're the center of my world, the rest of it is a messy blur of green and yellow as I fly in your grasp, around and around and around.
Your hair flutters and ripples like the wind teasing a field of wildflowers. Your wide smile sends warmth through my body, despite the relentless breeze. Your eyes are bright and in the deep pools of amber, I see happiness. I grab onto it and let it spin around us as we twirl.
It engulfs us and makes your smile wider, your eyes brighter. We stop spinning. You hold me to your chest and I close my eyes and I press myself against the steady beating of your heart. You bend your mouth to my ear and tell me a story with just three words:
   "I love you."
