rain
pouring down, down, down
your eyelashes catch some of the droplets
the water makes your lips soft
and your skin cold and slick
it seeps through your clothes,
eager to touch your skin
your shirt is heavy
your hair is straight and dark
i push it behind your ear
and rest my palm on your cheek
you smile
i smile
rain
rain
pouring down, down, down
it mingles with the scent of your skin
an exotic perfume
more stunning than a thousand roses
goosebumps raise on your arms
you shiver
and draw me close
the rain is glue
we cant pull away
your breath tickles my lips
it smells like your lips were dipped in the heavenly percipitation
your laugh blows more my way
i breathe it in
i gasp
rain
rain
pouring down, down, down
it sounds like a thousand butterfly wings
beating and flapping towards the heavens
your hair sticks to your face
and mine
it makes a curtain
a room holding only our faces
its home
i want to go home
you kiss the tip of my nose
leaving a droplet of water on it
you notice it and smile
you kiss my nose again
we laugh
rain
rain
pouring down, down, down
the sky is dark
shadows splay across your features
your eyes are closed
and when they arent, theyre locked on mine
theyre torches
illuminating our home
theyre candles
they bring the aroma of rain
your lips are wet
your smile is dazzling
you are the rain
i love you
