Your body collides with the chain link fence, seeing as though you did not bother to come to a complete stop. You ignore the sting of the rusty metal on your shoulder and try to brush off the grated flesh. You immediately set to work on the latch. You can hear their footsteps only about a yard away. This reminder does not help your latch-opening skills.
You finally manage to open the gate, revealing a safe path to a steelyard. You make sure to lock the entrance behind you. Despite your ensured safety, you feel the need to dash to the back of the yard.
Once you have gained confidence in your ability to survive, you trip, launching a thin metal pipe into your shin. You scrape the metal out of your skin and stumble to your feet, back into a run. You think you can spot a shed a few yards away. Seeing as though you have no other plans, you decide to take shelter there.
