Rainbow dash swooped up, allowing herself the safety from plummeting face first into the ground. She was starting to get frustrated. This was her third attempt today to perform the sonic rain-boom, but she couldn't figure out if she wasn't going high enough, or she just wasnt fast enough anymore. She just couldn't bring herself to except the second option.
Rainbow dash forced her wings to pump harder as she made her way up into the sky. This was going to be her last attempt of the day. She had to start out twice as high than she did the last time to gather up enough speed to perform the trick.
Once she could no longer see ponyville, and clouds took its place, rainbow dash stopped. She was going to make it this time, she was certain of it. Rainbow dash leaned forward to fall as she pulled her wings to her side. Moments later she extended them again to allow her self to slice through the air.
She had been falling for several moments now, and the atmosphere was starting to take shape around her, as ponyville came closer into view. The wind was wildly combing her mane past her head, and she began to get the feeling that she always got just before performing a sonic rain-boom.
The atmosphere was taking a more narrow shape, almost fitting the form of rainbow dash's body when----
" okay ladies, I've called you here today to ask if you would like for me to show you a new spell I've been working on," twighlight sparkle said confidently.
" oh, twighlight that's wonderful, can we please see it?" fluttershy squeaked meekly.
" of coarse fluttershy," twighlight coaxed reassuringly.
" this trick will allow me to send one pony to a different dimension. That is, if I do it very carefully, with absolutely no distractions. By the way, has any one seen rainbow dash today?" twighlight asked curiously.
" the last time I saw her, she was zipping up and down and up and down and up and down and up an---"
" pinkie! We get it!" apple jack interrupted.
" okay well rainbow dash is obviously busy, so let's get started shall we?" twighlight asked.
The rest of the ponies cheered in agreement.
"alright," twighlight said as she raised her horn and shut her eyes in concentration. She stayed like this for several moments.
Then, just as sparks began to squirt of out of her horn, the entire library shook, and a multicolored light filtered through the windows with a blast.
Twighlight opened her eyes suddenly, and a beam of light shot out of the frightened pony's horn, sending the entire setting into a bright purpley haze.
